Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is one of the most commonly requested cosmetic dental treatments. When performed by a registered dentist, teeth whitening is a safe procedure and the bleaching agent used is safe for teeth and gums. Teeth whitening treatments can provide great results. The whitening effect won’t last as long if you smoke or drink red wine, tea or coffee, which can all stain your teeth however good teeth brushing twice a day will help reduce the build-up of stains. It is also recommended before you start your whitening treatment and regularly after to see the hygienists in order to help remove stains and maintain your smile.

At Court Drive Dental Practice we offer a choice of both in- practice and at home whitening options.

Step one

First the dentist will need to see you for a dental exam in order to check the health of your teeth and gums and make sure they are suitable for whitening. If everything is ok we will then take impressions of your teeth so we can create your custom-made trays to be used at home.

We will also discuss the current shade of your teeth on our chart and what can be expected to be achieved.

Step two

Once your trays are ready, you will come back to the practice to collect them along with the bleaching gel to use at home. The trays will be worn for a minimum of three weeks overnight and you can expect to see results within a few days (providing our instructions are followed.)

Throughout the appointment your dentist will show you how to use them and check the trays fit correctly and comfortably.

Enlighten at home and in practice

Our premium whitening package with Enlighten Evolution Whitening guarantees Vita shade B1 (the lightest shade on the dentist guide chart) for every patient and long lasting whitening results with low sensitivity.

Step one

After your initial consultation your dentist will determine your suitability for teeth whitening and if suitable will then arrange a bespoke mold to fit your teeth perfectly.

Step two

Wear the trays overnight for two weeks

Step three

Visit your dentist for the final stage of the whitening which is a 40 minute bleaching treatment.

To maintain your new smile you will be given then enlighten Evo-White toothpaste or tooth serum to further protect your teeth. You will have your trays to keep so you can also top up your whitening as and when required.

How it works?

The active ingredient passes through the dental enamel, breaking down stains by chemical oxidation. The process can take some time so it is important to finish the treatment as directed by your dentist.
